Derby Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation

The Children and Community Services Ministerial Body through the Department for Child Protection and Family Support (the Department) is seeking responses from suitable Respondents for the service provision of an Aboriginal short stay accommodation facility in Derby.

Consistent with the Delivering Community Services in Partnership Policy, July 2011 the Department intends to engage with the not-for-profit community service sector and Local Government Authorities for the provision of this service.

The Derby Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation will be a 24 hour facility that is being established to respond to the need for accessible, safe, short term accommodation for Aboriginal visitors to Derby who would otherwise be sleeping rough or in overcrowded accommodation.

Three non-mandatory briefings will be conducted on the following dates:

1. Monday, 21 October 2013 at 11.00am at the Department for Child Protection and Family Support, Broome Office, 19 Coghlan Street, Broome;
2. Tuesday, 22 October 2013 at 11.00am at the Indigenous Coordination Centre, Conference Room, 37 Rowan Street, Derby; and
3. Thursday, 24 October 2013 at 11.00am at the Department for Child Protection and Family Support, Theatrette, 189 Royal Street, East Perth.
