Description

The State Party is seeking to purchase systemic disability advocacy supports for people with disability that promote, protect and ensure full and equal enjoyment of all human rights and enable full community participation.

The National Disability Advocacy Framework defines systemic disability advocacy as working to introduce and influence longer term change to ensure the rights of people with disability are attained and upheld to positively affect the quality of their lives.

Systemic advocacy supports people with disability by:

  1. promoting social and economic participation;
  2. promoting choice and control in the pursuit of goals;
  3. maximising full inclusion in an individual’s community; and
  4. ensuring the community is inclusive of people with disability.

Respondents are invited to submit Responses which:

  1. influence positive systemic changes in legislation, policy and service practice and work towards the promotion of inclusive communities and awareness of disability issues;
  2. foster effective strategic alliances with relevant stakeholders, including government, community services and the private sector, to develop their capacity to identify and respond to the needs of people with disability;
  3. promote the interests and wellbeing of people with disability and promote their full and valued inclusion as contributing and participating members of the community; and
  4. promote leadership and capacity building by people with disability.
