Description

Arts Queensland (AQ) is inviting suitably qualified, experienced, and licensed organisations to submit an offer for the provision of commercial Waste Management Services at the Cultural Centre, South Brisbane. This precinct incorporates Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Museum, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Gallery of Modern Art, State Library of Queensland, The Edge, three (3) Car Parks, small offices and Common Areas.
Additionally services are also to be provided at other AQ properties located in Merivale Street, South Brisbane and Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley.

The initial Contract Term is for a three (3) year term commencing 1 July 2010. At the end of the initial Contract Term, should the Principal be satisfied with the Contractor’s performance, the Principal may, at its sole discretion, invite the Contractor to extend the Contract for a further period of twelve months. Such an extension may be repeated at the conclusion of this twelve month period, to a total possible Contract Period of five (5) years.

The purpose of the specification is to detail the requirements in relation to the supply of routine, periodic and additional Waste Management Services detailing the expectations and/or performance criteria expected of a Contractor supplying those services to a prestigious infrastructure asset such as the Cultural Centre & related properties. These services include collection of variety of waste including general, cardboard, clean paper, sawdust, grease trap & paint trap waste, Co-Mix waste, batteries, fluro bulbs, and sharps in a variety of sizes. There will also be provision for emergency servicing.

Industry Briefing (Mandatory)
A Mandatory Industry Briefing will take place with respect to this tender. Due to the complexity of the site (including varying degrees of activities and access requirements within individual buildings), the Corporate Administration Agency (CAA) has had to compile a very strict timetable (nearly 1 full day) which can be located on page 8 of the Invitation to Offer document.

The mandatory industry briefing will be held at 9:00am Wednesday 17 March 2010, and we request that those nominating attendance, do so by advising details of attendees to this briefing by no later than 3.00pm, Tuesday 16 March 2010, to Belinda Bloomfield, Senior Procurement Consultant via email: [email hidden].

Offerors’ who do not attend this industry briefing in full, WILL NOT be eligible to submit an Offer for evaluation.

As the sites for this tender are complex in operation, Offeror’ must ensure they can attend for the full time detailed in the Invitation to Offer document to constitute the Offeror completing their attendance in full to satisfy the requirements of this Mandatory Industry Briefing.
