Inspection, Certification, Maintenance, and Upgrading of Swan River Trust Courtesy Moorings Located in the Swan and Canning Riverpark

Swan River Trust (the “Customer”) requires the provision of services for the inspection, certification, maintenance, and upgrading of Swan River Trust Courtesy Moorings located in the Swan and Canning Riverpark (the “Service(s)”).

The Swan River Trust (The Trust) operates in accordance with the State Government goals. Its work delivers on the Social and Environmental Responsibility goal – ensuring that economic activity is managed in a socially and environmentally responsible manner for the long-term benefit of the state.

The Trust was established in 1989 to protect, manage and provide appropriate planning for the Swan and Canning rivers and associated land.

It operates under the Swan and Canning Rivers Management Act 2006.

To protect seagrasses from vessel anchors in areas of high public use, the Trust has installed 33 highly visible red mooring buoys that are labelled with the Trust logo. These moorings are for use by private and commercial vessels of up to 15 metres for up to four hours at a time; recently the Trust has upgraded 3 Courtesy Moorings to accommodate vessels up to 25 metres. It is possible further upgrades to existing moorings may be undertaken to meet demand. These Moorings are located throughout the Swan Canning Riverpark, extending from the Stirling Traffic Bridge in Fremantle, upstream to Sandy Beach Reserve in Bassendean.
