Homeless Assessment and Referral Service (Metropolitan Area)

The Children and Community Services Ministerial Body through the Department for Child Protection and Family Support (the Department) is seeking responses from suitable Respondents to provide a Homeless Assessment and Referral Service (Metropolitan Area).

Consistent with the Delivering Community Services in Partnership Policy, July 2011, the Department intends to engage with the not-for-profit community services sector and Local Government Authorities for the provision of this service.

The Homeless Assessment and Referral Service (Metropolitan Area) aims to streamline responses for people who are homeless. The service will contribute to maximisation of resources in the homelessness sector and improve consumer access to appropriate accommodation and support services in the Metropolitan area.

The service will coordinate the responses required by people accessing the service through either providing information and advice and/or undertaking initial assessment including a risk assessment for family and domestic violence and where applicable, make an effective referral to appropriate accommodation and/or support services.
