Lower Murray Water
Merbein Booster Pump Station Design
Details
Description
The Merbein GLS and TWPS are located off Ranfurly Way Merbein, within the same fenced perimeter as the Merbein Main Pump Station (Irrigation) at the base of pump hill. The existing switchboard controlling the site is fitted with a PLC, RTU, Radio and VSD’s, all of which have reached their ‘End of Life’. The switchboard is due to reach the end of its design life by 2028. Key critical spare for the PLC and RTU components of the control system are no longer manufactured and as these assets are beyond their design life, they are an increased risk of failure, impacting on LMW’s ability to provide potable water to the
Merbein township during the Spring and Summer periods.
The design brief provides additional details to the rationale and objectives that LMW is looking to achieve for this project. Please refer to this for further information relating to the background of the project.
