Description
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is the service department for Australia's Federal Parliament. DPS supports the functions of the Australian Parliament and the work of parliamentarians through the provision of professional services, advice and facilities, the ongoing maintenance of Australian Parliament House (APH); and makes the building, and the important activity that takes place within it, accessible.
A significant undertaking of DPS is the provision of security services which are performed by the Parliamentary Security Service (PSS). The PSS operates 24 hours, seven days a week providing security services and response capability.
The PSS workforce, when fully staffed, is made up of approximately 250 uniformed officers. DPS is seeking to enter into a Contract with one or more suitably qualified and experienced Suppliers for an initial period of three (3) years. The Contract is for the supply of Parliamentary Security Service (PSS) uniforms, personal protective clothing, equipment and footwear (garments).
