Supply, Delivery and Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of one (1) Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS) System

This Request is for the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning and maintenance of one (1) Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS) System to be used in the Special Chemistry Section of PathWest. The Trace and Toxic Elements section within the Special Chemistry Section provides a service to public pathology in Western Australia as well as a number of private laboratories and clients.

Currently PathWest maintain methods for a suite of approximately 13 elements available on demand and usually in more than one biological matrix. Testing for some elements is required in large batches. To meet these requirements and allow PathWest to remain competitive for cost per test and turnaround time, the ICP-MS System should provide the following as a minimum:

• include a large capacity (100-300 samples) Autosampler (e.g. Cetac, Elemental Scientific, etc.);
• include collision/reaction cells (or similar) designed to eliminate polyatomic interferences;
• be capable of simultaneous multielemental analysis in a variety of clinical sample matrices (i.e. plasma, urine or blood);
• have the ability to perform normal scanning as well as selective ion monitoring; and
• include ion lens, quadrupole, detector and associated electronics.

To be able to meet the Customer’s needs, Respondents’ offered instruments must be able to interface (directly or via middleware) with PathWest’s Laboratory Information System (LIS) and its current and future laboratory and computing environments. Respondents should note that PathWest is currently updating the LIS for an expected go-live by March 2020.
