The review of the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Mission

The Department of Health and Aged Care requires the services of a supplier to conduct a review of the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF)’s Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Mission to assess its progress in line with the Mission Roadmap and Implementation Plan, the Australian Government’s 10-year MRFF investment plan and the MRFF’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Strategy 2020-21 to 2023-24, and to guide investment from 2025-26

In delivering the review, the Supplier will:

• provide secretariat, research, and coordination support for the review
• develop a project plan outlining the approach for the review, following an inception meeting with the department
• consider existing (e.g., project progress and final reports, MRFF performance indicator grantee survey data) and gather new information from grant recipients to better understand progress with dementia, ageing and aged care research projects and gather views on the Mission and dementia, ageing and aged care research in Australia more broadly
• conduct a comprehensive consultation process with key stakeholders, including consumers, health service providers, researchers and industry groups, nationally and internationally to supplement findings from the desktop review
• based on the data gathered and information provided in the desktop scan, develop a report with key findings and insights, for publication on the department’s website.
