WA Public Transport Authority
Railcar classes WDA-B-C-WEA-B - Overhaul of Bogies
Details
Description
Background
The Public Transport Authority’s (PTA) train bogies are required to be regularly overhauled based on the individual component Operational Equipment Manual (OEM) recommended replacement / service times. Prospector bogies are generally overhauled every 5.5 years, (1.2 million km). Overhauls include wheel set changes which incorporate final drive overhaul and other component inspections plus the replacement of all rubber components, dampers, springs, brake discs and brake calliper / cylinder refurbishment. This overhaul is the third overhaul undertaken, (16.5 year, 3.6 million km), and will be more comprehensive than previous overhauls. This contract is for a six (6) year contractual term for the overhaul services for Siemens SF5000 bogies as outlined below.
Scope of Services
- 1. The contract will incorporate the purchase and management of all replacement parts, the cost and logistics of component overhaul and the disassembly, inspection and reassembly of the bogies. PTA requires that bogies are overhauled four at a time. Due to the long lead times, all the required parts for all bogies are to be purchased up front before overhaul commences.
- 2. The Public Transport Authority has a requirement for:
- a) Overhaul of 22 bogies – 18 of which are fitted to the operational car-sets, plus four spare bogies.
- 3. The detailed scope of work is referenced in Book 4 RFT Scope of Services and Specificaton of this Request for Tender.
