Airway Clearance devices for Ventilator Dependent Quadriplegic - Community Care Program
Details
Description
The Ventilator Dependent Quadriplegic Community Care Program (VDQ-CCP), based at Fiona Stanley Hospital, supports quadriplegics living in the community who require permanent mechanical ventilation to maintain respiratory function. These patients are not unable to manage their secretions, nor have the ability to cough and therefore require external assistance in clearing the airways. For the VDQ-CCP, this external cough assistance is provided by mechanical insufflation-exsufflation.
South Metropolitan Health Service requires the procurement of up to 16x Mechanical Insufflation-Exsufflation airway clearance devices to replace the current fleet which are no longer supported.
