WA Public Transport Authority
Provision of Transwa Road Coach Maintenance Services
Details
Description
In September 2002 a Formal Instrument of Agreement was made between the Western Australian Government Railways Commission (since renamed Public Transport Authority of Western Australia) and Scania Australia for the design, manufacture, supply, delivery and on going service and maintenance of Scania K124EB 420HP coaches (with Volgren body). The agreement was satisfied and concluded in 2008.
To maintain the excellent standard of service to regional Western Australian areas, there is a requirement to continue the servicing and maintenance of the twenty two coaches within the metropolitan area and the major regional areas. Transwa provides coach services operating from the following locations, East Perth, Geraldton, Bunbury, Albany and Esperance.
This procurement project encompasses the ongoing Scheduled Maintenance and Unscheduled Maintenance of the coach fleet (22 coaches) for an initial period of three years with two one-year options. The vehicles are estimated to travel 130,000 km per year.
