Captive Carry Trials Helicopter Services
Details
Description
Captive Carry System (CCS) Trials Helicopter services support for multipliable trials in EAXA and WAXA.
The CCS is a Commonwealth asset that is used to carry an EW payload and simulate its normal flight vehicle. CCS Trials are required to develop, assess and evaluate EW payload effectiveness in a realistic tactical manner as well as interoperability testing with other systems. This is achieved by flying a helicopter (with the suspended CCS weights approximately 340 kg including payload and an equipment rack that is stationed within the helicopter and provides power and control to the suspended FV and Payload) in close proximity to a RAN Surface Platform with Lear Jet(s) fitted with EW pods simulating amissile threat against that Surface Platform.
