WA Department for Child Protection
Intensive Transitional Therapeutic Placement (ITTP) Service
Details
Description
REQUEST TITLE: INTENSIVE TRANSITIONAL THERAPEUTIC PLACEMENT (ITTP) SERVICE
REQUEST NUMBER: DCP 12311
ISSUED BY: THE CHILDREN AND COMMUNITY SERVICES MINISTERIAL BODY THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT FOR CHILD PROTECTION
The Children and Community Services Ministerial Body through the Department for Child Protection (the Department) is seeking responses from suitable Respondents to become part of a panel of approved Service Providers to provide the Intensive Transitional Therapeutic Placement Service. Respondents should refer to "Part B - Service Agreement Details" (in attached Request document) for information regarding the proposed panel arrangement. Consistent with the Delivering Community Services in Partnership Policy, July 2011 the Department intends to engage with the not-for-profit community sector for the provision of this service.
The purpose of the Intensive Transitional Therapeutic Placement Service is to provide intensive therapeutic intervention for a short to medium term (ranging from 6 to 18 months) with the intention of transitioning the child or young person into less intensive services as they respond to the therapeutic intervention. Through this service children and young people with complex and extreme needs are able to be accommodated and supported in the same placement without having to transfer to a new service delivery provider and consequently new carers as the needs of the child or young person reduce. The Service Provider will provide a safe, nurturing, therapeutic and child focussed family environment. Children and young people placed with a particular Service Provider under the panel contract arrangement will typically be placed on their own although the opportunity for co tenancy may arise as the child/young person's needs and service support levels reduce.
A non-mandatory briefing will be conducted at 11.30am, on Wednesday, 19 October 2011 at the Department for Child Protection, Theatrette, 189 Royal Street, East Perth. Respondents are requested to confirm their attendance by no later than 4.00pm on Tuesday, 18 October 2011 by contacting Ms Melissa Dobson on phone number [phone hidden] or by email [email hidden]
