Description

Westernport Water is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the provision of Construction Works for Asbestos Cement Water Main Renewal Works.

Westernport Water have a large portion of its water main network with asbestos cement pipes that are 40 to 60 years old. In recent years multiple bursts have been recorded and a program of renewals was created. This project aims to lay new polyethylene pipe parallel to the existing asbestos cement pipe, leaving the existing pipe in the ground and capping either end. This aims to eliminate the frequency of bursts and reduce service interruptions to the Phillip Island customers.
