Design of Sports Memorabilia Locations at Perth Stadium

Perth Stadium (PS) and the surrounding Stadium Park (SP) will be the largest piece of sporting infrastructure to be built in Western Australia. This world-class, multi-purpose and internationally recognised venue will form an integral part of the redeveloped Burswood Peninsula. PS is forecast to host 32-37 events per annum and SP will provide public amenity 365 days per year.

PS plans to acknowledge Western Australia’s rich sporting history and heritage. The intention is that sports memorabilia will be experienced by patrons on event and non-event days in addition to staff working within the PS. In mid-2016, the Sports Memorabilia Strategy (Strategy) was finalised which informs the integration of sports memorabilia within the venue and recognition of WA’s sporting history.

The Sports Memorabilia Reference Group consisting of members from the key sporting users including AFL, Cricket, Football (Soccer), Rugby League, Rugby Union, Western Australian Institute of Sport and Western Australian Museum. The group has been consulted throughout the project. In January 2017, the State Advisor – Curation commenced consultation individually with the reference group members to capture cultural narratives and identify possible memorabilia items

The Customer is seeking design expertise to finalise the graphical content (images and artefacts) of 10 sports memorabilia locations (Task 1) with an option of providing a design solution for an additional 7 locations (Task 2) within the Perth Stadium.
The Customer requires Task 1 to be completed by 14 July 2017.

Task 2 will be an option to be progressed at the Customer’s discretion. Should the Customer choose to progress Task 2, this will be required to be completed by 11 August 2017.
The selected Respondent will work with the Customer to utilise information provided by the Customer, its State Advisors – (curation and project architects), the PS operator (VenuesLive) and a signage contractor to realise the strategy through design solutions for the Sports Memorabilia locations.
