WA Public Transport Authority
Internet Protocol Backbone Network Switching Infrastructure - Forrestfield-Airport Link
Details
Description
The Forrestfield Airport Link (FAL) Project will deliver a new rail service to the eastern suburbs of Perth – with three new stations at Redcliffe, Airport Central and Forrestfield. As part of the FAL Project, a new data communications network is required to provide the connectivity for communications systems for the new rail service. This network is known as the FAL IP Backbone Network (IPBN).
The IPBN will integrate with the wider PTA network to provide connectivity to the core systems in the PTC, PUG and PTA’s data centre. This procurement is for the Cisco switching infrastructure and Check Point Security appliances required for the IPBN.
The scope of this procurement project is limited to the Cisco switching and Check Point infrastructure required for the FAL IPBN. This includes the switching infrastructure required at each location on the FAL line, as well as the switching, management and security infrastructure required at the Perth Transport Centre and Perth Underground to integrate the IPBN into the broader PTA network.
