Purchase and Installation of Generators for Bamaga and Yorke Island

This Request for Offer is for the purchase & installation of two generators and decommissioning & removal of the existing generators for Bamaga Hospital and Yorke Island Health Facility

The Scope of Work comprises of the removal of existing plant and the design, manufacture, supply, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and defects liability service, of materials labor and equipment for the complete electrical services installation as detailed in this specification and reference drawings for a fully operational and complete installation. This Includes maintenance under warranty for a period of twelve months without further charge and all incidental work pertaining thereto.

Yorke Island, also known as Masig Island, and is located 158km north east of Thursday Island, 165km north east of Cape York, 839km north west of Cairns, 80km south of Papua New Guinea. Yorke Island is a 2.7 km long coral cay located in the Torres Strait. The Yorke Island Primary Health Centre is the main clinic for the central Torres Strait cluster and is the base for staff servicing primary health centres on Warraber, Coconut and Yam islands.

Bamaga is situated on the Jardine River which is 2,600km north of Brisbane, 25km south of Thursday Island, 850km north of Cairns and has a Hospital and the Community Health Centre servicing the area. The Bamaga Hospital is a relatively new 14 bed facility with redevelopment being completed in 1999. The hospital offers acute, general and 24 hour cover services as well as beds for nursing home and maternity care patients, and Outpatient services of daily clinics and emergency care. The Bamaga Hospital and Community Health Centre services the communities of Bamaga, Seisia, Injinoo, Umagico and New Mapoon
