Youth Justice NSW proposes piloting bail supports and outreach services for children and young people (young people) experiencing and/or perpetrating domestic and family as part of the Short-term Remand Pilot. The legal (bail advocacy) and youth outreach services element of the Short-term Remand Pilot aims to engage Aboriginal young people and their families in culturally safe legal services, and outreach supports when released on bail to: - Fill a service gap for this cohort of young people to reduce reoffending - Reduce the overrepresentation of Aboriginal young people experiencing avoidable short-term remand.
