Provision of Site clean-up works - Longreach Dumps Project
Details
Description
The Longreach Dumps project describes a collective of old station dumps located on four National Parks in the Longreach region (Diamantina, Lochern, Bladensburg and Welford), with some parks having more than one dump site. Due to the vast distance and extent of work required, a capital project was funded to implement a holistic clean-up approach across multiple sites.
The Department of National Parks, Recreation, Sport and Racing requires the services of a capable, experienced external provider to undertake the site clean-up works at each site. This will include:
- Identification and removal of Asbestos Containing Material
- Using an excavator mounted electro-magnetic attachment, separate and stock pile all scrap metal in preparation for metal recycling contractor (planned for April 2015)
- Excavation of t4renches onsite and buying of remaining waste such as bottles and other non-combustible timer material
- Surface clean-up and relocation of fill to "cap" old disused (shallow) bury pits.
