Provision of Homestay and Airport Pickup Services

The Education & Training International (ETI) division of the Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD) is responsible for the marketing and admission of international full fee paying students entering State Training Provider Institutions. ETI also manages the recruitment and admission of international students into Western Australian government primary schools and selected secondary schools, on behalf of the Department of Education under a Service Level Agreement. Students using this service may be studying at either a DTWD State Training Provider or a Department of Education School.

ETI is required by federal legislation to provide a range of support services to those students it enrols. One of those services is providing assistance in finding appropriate and adequate accommodation.

Approximately 300 international students per annum require assistance prior to or when they first arrive in the State with arranging accommodation. Many choose to stay with Australian families in a Homestay arrangement for a weekly fee. In addition, these students often need to be met upon arrival and transported to their initial accommodation mainly from the airport.

The Respondent is to note that this is a Contract between DTWD and the successful Respondent. However, there is no financial obligation on the part of DTWD in regard to the payment for these services. Payment of monies is between the successful Respondent, Homestay providers/Airport Pickup providers and the students.
