Description

The Children and Community Services Ministerial Body through the Department for Child Protection and Family Support (the Department) is seeking responses from suitable Respondents to provide the Laverton Crisis Intervention Service (LCIS).

Consistent with the Delivering Community Services in Partnership Policy, July 2011 the Department intends to engage with the not-for-profit community service sector and Local Government Authorities for the provision of this service.

LCIS will assist women and children experiencing or at risk of family and domestic violence to be safe and help them find solutions to issues both practical and personal that have arisen as a result of the family and domestic violence. The service will actively participate in Secondary Family Support Networks and operate in accordance with the Secondary Family Support Network Operating Framework and Service Standards.

LCIS will work within the community to provide an early intervention and prevention response to women with or without children experiencing or at risk of family and domestic violnece to be safe and supported. Service delivery is flexible with support tailored to clients' needs. The support involves:

  • direct provision of, and/or assistance to access, crisis/short term accommodation;
  • assistance to explore options for safe short term accommodation in the community;
  • informal support;
  • safety planning; and
  • an outreach service.
