DAFWA’s Pest Diagnostics group is aimed at improving Plant Biosecurity by developing rapid techniques to identify exotic pests.
A Scanning Electron Microscope with Tilting / Rotate Motorised Holder, Critical Point Dryer and Sputter Coater for Photographing and Viewing the Microstructure of Specimens is required for photographing and viewing the microstructure of specimens.
The Scanning Electron Microscope has application to several Plant Biosecurity priority areas including fruit fly diagnostics, stored grain insect pests, plant pathology, seed identification and exotic dermestid determination. It can be extended further to other non-biosecurity related areas.
