Description
To engage a suitably qualified and experienced Heritage Consultant to carry out heritage conservation services for the repair and conservation of Fort Nepean at the Point Nepean Forts Precinct. Fort Nepean precinct includes all forts, gun emplacements numbers 1 - 8, corresponding underground storage areas and passages, the Machine Room, associated paths, and stairs to the structures.
(Refer Fortification structures F1-F6, in Point Nepean Forts Conservation Management Plan, 2006)
The aims of the project are:
- to address the issues of major structural problems including concrete cancer, rust, and spalling
- to re-open several sites currently closed to public access due to safety issues arising from the deterioration of the building
