Description

The Department of Health is seeking a food literacy community education and skills development service that will contribute to the following community outcomes for Western Australians:

  • Increased dietary intake consistent with national dietary guidelines, in particular:
    • Increased intake of fruit, vegetables and wholegrain foods
    • Reduced intake of discretionary (energy-dense, nutrient-poor) food and drinks.

The proposed service will also contribute to the achievement of the community outcomes above through the following:

  • Increased food literacy self-efficacy
  • Increased application of food literacy knowledge and skills
  • Improved food purchasing and preparation in line with the national dietary guidelines.
