This project is a part of the South Australian Rural Roads Safety Package. The Department has committed to installing Audio Tactile Line Marking (ATLM) on edge and/or centre lines on key arterial roads, exhibiting a high incidence of fatigue crash types to improve road safety.

- support the delivery of infrastructure priorities from the National Road Safety Action Plan 2023-25 through installation of ATLM;
- improve risk ratings on roads, preferably to a minimum of ‘three star’ rating on high-risk highways and arterial roads;
- reduce rural road crashes by providing a noise (audio) and vibratory (tactile) warning to road users who may stray due to fatigue or poor visibility due to rain or fog; and
- deliver works by March 2026.
