Provision of Track Geometry & Rail Profile Data

1. Background

The Track Branch of the Public Transport Authority (PTA) is responsible for maintaining the safety and serviceability of the track infrastructure within the Urban Rail Network.

The PTA Rail Network incorporates both the electrified and non-electrified lines within the Perth Metropolitan area and extends to include Armadale to Mundijong and Fremantle to Robbs Jetty sections.

This Contract is for the service provision of a mechanised Narrow Gauge Track Recording Vehicle with the primary used to measure and record the PTA infrastructure using non-contact recording system within the urban rail network.

1. Scope of Services and Specification

The scope of work is for the service provision of a mechanised recording vehicle for the primary use of measuring and recording the rail infrastructure on the PTA’s narrow gauge rail network.

This scope includes the provision of GPS-located continuous measurement survey data, and the reporting of exceedances pertaining to track geometry and rail wear parameters as per requirements stipulated in the Narrow-Gauge Code of Practice (NGCOP) – PTA document 8190-400-002.
