Track Infrastructure Package at Bellevue Depot

The Bellevue Depot site is bounded by Lloyd Street, Elgee Road, Robinson Road and the non-electrified railway freight line.

The Midland Station Project will deliver the design of the mainline and the ultimate electrified connection to the depot, which is still in the final design phase. This connection will not be ready by the time the first of the new railcars are expected to be sent to Nowergup depot for testing and final commissioning. To facilitate this rail movement, the PTA will provide a connection between the proposed Bellevue Depot Arrival Road W1 and existing track work of the mainline and its subsidiary connections currently entering site.

Scope of Works

The Contractor will be responsible for:

1. Demolition:
   1. The disconnection of the existing depot narrow gauge track (rail safety component);
   2. The demolition of remaining rail infrastructure; and
   3. Stockpiling all discarded materials onsite.
   4. Civil and Earthworks
      1. Excavation to nominated required level and stockpile of debris onsite;
      2. Installation of sleeves;
      3. Relief culverts and grading;
      4. Ground compaction works of in-situ material;
      5. Import and place of required engineered fill as per civil specification to nominated area;
      6. Compaction of imported fill as per project & PTA specifications;
      7. Ballast capping and rail formation; and
      8. All other works necessary for the proper completion and testing of the works shown or implied in the documents.

         2. Transporting all materials to site;
         3. The Contractor is responsible for the installation of track infrastructure, including but not limited to:
            1. Concrete sleepers & bearers;
            2. Rail head and rail fastenings;
            3. Transition plates;
            4. Nominated turnouts; and
            5. Earthing and Bonding Equipment.
