Description
Stream salinity and the associated dryland salinisation produce serious environmental, economic and social consequences. Stakeholders, including catchment groups are increasingly considering engineering options as tools to manage dryland salinity and whether water from these can be recovered for alternative uses. The Minister for Water is seeking an independent engineering assessment of the feasibility of treating large saline reserves east of the Darling Escarpment, which is to be managed by the Department of Water (DoW).
