Australian Taxation Office
ATO - Debt Collection Services
Details
Description
In 2005–06 the Tax Office trialled new and innovative ways of engaging with taxpayers who had failed to meet their taxation obligations.
One of the initiatives involved referring a parcel of low value tax debt cases to an external collection agency for collection action.
The pilot demonstrated that the Tax Office can increase capability and coverage through strategic partnerships with external providers.
The Tax Office aims to build on the success of the pilot by procuring ongoing external debt collection services.
These services include:
- Securing payment in full
- Establishing arrangements to pay by instalments over time.
Full details of the proposal including the statement of requirements are outlined in the attached Request For Tender.
