Background Information:
Spyglass Beef Research Facility was purchased by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (formally – DEEDI) on the 1/3/2011 and was originally two adjoining commercial cattle stations. In 2012 the two cattle station were merged by the department into one research facility and called Spyglass Beef Research Facility (38,000ha). Current climatic conditions in North Queensland and especially on and around Spyglass have not been favourable with below average rainfall falling on Spyglass for the past two seasons. The property water infrastructure stage one included 250,000 water tanks and this tender is offered for additional poly tanks, poly pipe, water troughs and associated materials.
Purpose:
The need to purchase these materials is required to complete the drought proofing of the eastern side of Spyglass Beef Research Facility. This tender has been approved under the 2014/15 Research Facility Development Project applications.
