Bus Stop Accessibility Works Program - Survey and Design Services

The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is committed to ensuring that its facilities and services comply with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act and the associated Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002 (“Disability Standards”). To facilitate this responsibility the Government of Western Australia has recently allocated significant funding over a fourteen year period to undertake an ongoing works program that will progressively make all 13,000 bus stops meet the requirements of the Disability Standards. It is estimated that approximately 650 bus stop upgrades per annum will be achieved over the next five years, subject to budget availability.
