This contract is for the Short-Term Remant Pilot. The aim of the Pilot is to reduce the volume of children and young people (aged 10 – 17) experiencing avoidable short-term remand. For the Pilot, short-term remand is defined as instances where a child or young person is refused bail by Police and subsequently granted bail by a magistrate at their first court appearance (usually within 24 hours).
