QLD Department of Environment and Heritage Protection
Theme 3 - Sediment management and land condition in extensive grazing lands
Details
Description
In response to the ongoing water quality impacts affecting the health of the Great Barrier Reef, the Queensland Government has set ambitious targets to reduce pollutants in run-off from key reef catchments by 2025. To help producers adopt practices that minimise pollution run-off, the Reef Water Quality (RWQ) Branch of the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (EHP) invests in research, development and innovation (RD&I) projects that foster farm management practice improvement and deliver profit, productivity and environmental benefits.
The purpose of this EOI is to seek proposals for projects in Great Barrier Reef (GBR) catchments that address the research priorities under Theme 3 of the Strategy, ‘Sediment management and land condition in extensive grazing lands’. which could focus on supporting grazing land managers to; improve land condition; prevent and treat gullies or streambank erosion; and/or refine land management in response to drought.
