Description

The Queensland Government, through the Department of Justice and Attorney-General (DJAG) has a strong commitment to assist with the recovery of victim survivors and assists victims to recover from the impact of violent crime, including all forms of domestic and family violence (DFV) by providing financial assistance, promoting the needs and rights of victims and funding non-government organisations (NGOs) that provide support services to victims of violent crime.

DJAG is seeking the services of a suitable supplier (NGO) to deliver trauma informed, client focused services through a three-year pilot program support service that will provide court support for DFV victims while they are interacting with the criminal justice system in relation to criminal proceedings in Rockhampton.

The successful supplier will deliver services in consultation, in conjunction, and in collaboration with existing services and stakeholders to ensure victims of DFV in criminal proceedings are emotionally and practically supported. The service will assist victims to navigate their way through the court process, that may include but not be limited to, direct service provision and/or collaboration with other services to provide the required support.

Service delivery for this pilot will be based at a location within or close to the Rockhampton Magistrates Court, the Rockhampton District Court and the Rockhampton Supreme Court.
