WA Public Transport Authority
Provision of Painting Works for the Public Transport Authority
Details
Description
The Public Transport Authority of Western Australia operates and maintains a rail network which includes seventy five (75) rail stations throughout the suburban Perth. A part of the overall maintenance program is to undertake painting at the stations.
The Public Transport Authority will require Painting Contractor(s) to paint the nominated surfaces of two (2) separate Locations; Separable Portion 1 Kelmscott Railway Station and Separable Portion 2 Stirling Railway Station.
To achieve the timeframe, each project will run concurrently. To minimise the disruptions to the network, each station shall remain open and operational during the works. However, this increases the complexity of the projects as in addition to managing the service’s risks, both pedestrian and vehicle traffic risks are also to be managed. This will require the Contractor to provide to Public Transport Authority specific site Traffic Management, Safety Management Plans and Work method Statements which is required prior to work commencing.
Paint Products - The specification(s) will reference Dulux products which may be substituted with a suitable alternative subject to the approval of the Superintendent.
The Scope of Works for the Contract will be for maintenance re-paint of the structural steel, metalwork and external painted surfaces including the roof structures.
The successful Contractor(s) shall provide suitably trained personnel (qualified tradesman painters to carryout all the work) who will be fully equipped and self-sufficient to carry out the Works on Network and Infrastructure Facilities as directed by PTA authorised representative.
The Station(s) are an integrated busport/train commuter facility which has a significant public profile and a substantial volume of patrons using it on a daily basis.
The painting programme for the Station will require a structured and programmed approach that minimises impact on patrons and train/bus operations.
For further details refer of Scope of Works refer to Book 4.
