DMP360512 - Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Framework for the Mining Act 1978, Mining Regulations 1981 and Offshore Minerals Act 2003

The Department of Mines and Petroleum of Western Australia undertakes environmental assessment of mining exploration and development under the:
• Mining Act 1978;
• Mining Regulations 1981; and
• Offshore Minerals Act 2003.
The successful Respondent will provide strategic and specific recommendations on legislative amendments to the Mining Act 1978, Mining Regulations 1981 and the Offshore Minerals Act 2003 that will effectively deter non-compliance and provide appropriate sanctions for environmental offences. The successful Respondent will provide advice on the required administrative structure, staffing expertise, and procedures to effectively implement the recommended legislative framework.
