Mobile Retransmission System (MRS) Acquisition and Support

A Mobile Retransmission System (MRS), capable of supporting Battle Group (BG) and below range extension requirements, is to be procured in order to support Commanders in maintaining effective command and control of tactical force elements. The MRS capability will be deployable across the Brigade (BDE), transported in a range of ADF Platforms. The system will also be operable in a dismounted Command Post (CP) role. The MRS system will consist of a Primary Retransmission Subsystem (PRS), providing 4 radio channels (2 retransmission nets) in configuration, and a Secondary Communications Subsystem (SCS), capable of housing two radios (selected from a list of supported radios) in various configurations. The MRS will be a modular system able to be powered from external power in addition to providing an internal power source when external power fails or is unavailable. Both the PRS and SCS shall be able to be powered from the internal power source simultaneously.

This acquisition will provide the ADF with a quantity of 84 ground-based modular MRS. In addition to the acquisition of the MRS units, this procurement activity includes the implementation of the Support System capability, that will then be managed under the related Support Contract that has an initial term of five years.
