Details

Description

CSIRO through this RFT is seeking responses from suitably qualified and experienced service providers for the provision of an Automated High Throughput Phenotyping System (AHTPS) capable of dynamically measuring plant growth and development with high temporal and spatial resolution. This system is to be installed at the Black Mountain, Canberra ACT, plant precinct, in support of the Science and Industry Endowment Fund (SIEF) program.

The SIEF project requires an AHTPS to allow researchers to quantitatively and non-destructively analyse different crops and model plants grown under Glasshouse conditions. The AHTPS will monitor the growth of each plant contained in the glasshouse on a daily basis (in some cases, a few lanes multiple times per day) to assess impacts of a wide variety of factors on plant growth and development. This will allow CSIRO to improve its overall agricultural research capacity and its ability to support the Australian agriculture industry.
