Description

The provision of support workers to provide services which meet the needs of Unaccompanied Minors (UAMs)in relationto health, recreation, spiritual, cultural, skills development, nutrition and transitioning out of Alternative Places of Detention APODs.

A UAM is a non-citizen who:

- is under 18 years old at the time of (lawful or unlawful) arrival in ;

- is not currently in the care of their parents;

- is not entering for the purposes of a full and permanent adoption;

does not have a spouse over the age of 21 to whom they are married in accordance with the Marriage Act 1961, and

- intends, or is intended, to become a permanent resident of .

UAMs require support in APODs.Details of these APODs are provided at Paragraph 15 of the RFT.
