WA Public Transport Authority
Hardware Procurement - Data Centre Unified Computing System (UCS) Replacement and CCTV Storage Capacity Increase - Forrestfield Airport Link (FAL) Projects
Details
Description
Background
In 2015, the Public Transport Authority (PTA) commissioned the alternate datacentre at Malaga as part of improving the DR capability of the organisation. This project utilised existing PTA standards for server infrastructure that provided a well-integrated server solution with improved performance and interoperability with existing Network and Storage infrastructure, and reduced the number of vendor contracts in the support of PTA operations. The infrastructure that was commissioned as part of this project will reach end of life in the 2020/21 financial year and will require replacement. This requirement is highlighted in the IT Infrastructure Asset Management Plan.
In 2017, the PTA commenced a capacity replacement program for Forrestfield Airport Link (FAL) to replace the existing CCTV infrastructure with a standardised solution across the business and operational systems.
The original design and capacity planning was conducted in 2016 when little was known around the requirement for additional capacity to meet the needs of new major projects. The FAL project is a significant civil undertaking with 11kms of dual tunnel track, 3 new stations, and major upgrade works to existing PTA facilities. The estimate for the total number of CCTV cameras that will be installed as part of this project is in excess of 650. This will require an increase of server capacity to meet the CCTV demand.
Scope of Requirement
The nominated supplier shall provide the PTA with:
- 17 x Cisco B series UCS servers;
- 3 x Cisco C series UCS servers; and
- Maintenance support services.
