Supply of Pumps for SPS-LMT001 Upgrade

This contract is for the supply of four pumps for the SPS-LMT001 Sewage Pump Station which is to be upgraded as part of the Caloundra Sewage Transport System.

The SPS-LMT001 Sewage Pump Station site currently contains one duty/assist pump station delivering sewage to the Kawana Sewage Treatment Plant (STP). The old pump well (Well 1) is currently used as emergency storage. The upgrade works include converting the old pump well (currently used as emergency storage) back to a three (3) pump (Duty / Assist 1 / Assist 2 configuration) pump station. This pump station will become the new ‘high lift’ pump station on the LMT001 site pumping sewage to Kawana STP. The existing pump station will be converted to a ‘low lift’ pump station pumping into the ‘high lift’ pump station. Pumps will be operated by variable frequency inverters. The fourth pump will be held in Unitywater store as a spare.

This contract includes the design, documentation, testing, supply, delivery to site and on-site commissioning assistance of pumps for the SPS-LMT001 pump station upgrade.

The required delivery date for the pumps is yet to be confirmed; however the current anticipated date is 20 June 2016. Unitywater wishes to award this supply contract as soon as possible in order to finalise an application to Energex for a transformer upgrade, which requires a confirmed pump specification.

It is anticipated that a constructor will be appointed to undertake the SPS-LMT001 pump station upgrade works in late 2015. Once a construction contract is in place for the upgrade works, this supply contract will be novated to the constructor under the terms set out in the conditions of contract including Annexure G – Deed of Novation.
