Description
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is upgrading three stations - Meltham and Mount Lawley Stations are on the Midland Line and Queens Park is located on the Armadale Line. The upgrade includes improvements to the platforms, ramps, signage, security and lighting as well as addressing current Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requirements. In addition, Mount Lawley Station is receiving new platform shelters.
The PTA wishes to enlist the services of an artist for creation of an artwork at each station to add interest and identity to each location.
A tender for the station upgrade work is scheduled for award in July 2011 with construction expected to start in August. Completion is scheduled for July 2012.
