City West Crossover - Overhead Line Equipment Construction

Description
In order to improve services and add resilience to the PTA network in the case of emergency and degraded systems, the PTA has recommended a suite of projects that will help the network cope with these instances. One of those proposals is the installation of a new crossover to the west of City West Station that, in conjunction with the West Leederville crossover and the new Sutherland Street Substation will allow trains to operate between City West and Fremantle in the event of the railway being shut down in Perth. The construction of the new crossover is scheduled for October 2014, and the associated Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) installation is proposed for Mid-November
