Description
The WA Police, Water Police have a large offshore patrol vessel, Falcon TW 160 at 17 metres. It operates in the southern half of the state, from Fremantle.
The Falcon is 11 years old and been authorised for replacement.
The functional business requirements to meet the legislative and business needs of WA Police in this environment are:
• Marine Search and Rescue
• Dive operations
• Conveyance of police staff and prisoners, and
• General offshore patrolling for counterterrorism and general policing matters.
Replacement is required to maintain contemporary technology and design to assist in meeting more efficient deployment of WA Police in the marine environment.
