The East Metropolitan Health Service is undertaking an Expression of Interest (EOI) process to assist with planning for a possible procurement of a Peer Support Workforce set to be part of a new potential mental health service
As a result, EMHS is currently planning for a 40-bed Transitional Care Unit (TCU). The TCU aim is to support consumers’ transition back into the community, supporting them to effectively build necessary skills and relationships to accomplish this.
The TCU will comprise of a 20-bed Prevention and Recovery Unit (PRU) providing short-term sub-acute inpatient clinical and recovery-focused care (average length of stay 14-30 days), and a 20-bed Rehabilitation and Recovery Unit (RRU) providing medium- to long-term sub-acute inpatient intensive clinical and rehabilitation care (average length of stay six months).
