Supply of up to two (2) Automated Systems for Mycobacteria Culture and Susceptibility Testing, Department of Microbiology QEII

PathWest is seeking the supply of up to two (2) Automated Systems for Mycobacteria Culture and Sensitivity Testing to replace aged assets at the QEII Site.

Equipment Specifications for compliance include:

• Fully automated system for the detection, recovery and drug susceptibility testing (DST) of mycobacteria from multiple types of clinical specimens
• Ability to manually read culture tubes if required
• Perform 1st & 2nd line DST of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex isolates and clarithromycin DST of M avium complex isolates as per WHO guidelines
• Compatible with the Cepheid GeneXpert and other in-house assays for performing additional testing of aliquots from positive tubes
• Able to manage >15,000 specimens per annum
• Fast time-to-positivity and identifies positives as they occur with a visual and audible signal
• Easy to use with barcode scanning and enhanced safety features to minimise risk to the operator eg. non-radiometric detection, non-glass tubes, no sharps / minimal handling
• Minimal footprint and weight (loaded) to optimise the restricted space within the PC3 Facility
• Bi-directional interface compatible with the SCC SOFT LIS.
• Local field service engineer for post-warranty instrument service/maintenance.
• ARTG listed

Service and Maintenance Specifications include:

• Comprehensive post warranty service agreement (inclusive of PM, replacement parts, software support, remedial maintenance);
• Phone support within one (1) hour and onsite support within four (4) hours;
• Access to after hours support
