This contract is to recruit an Aboriginal focused Senior Policy Officer to help realise and deliver on the targets set out in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Stand-alone National Plan from 2022, contribute to the National Plan translation and implementation at a state level, be the key point of contact between state and federal government relating to the work of NSW specialist workers to address disproportionate rates of violence experienced in Aboriginal communities, provide intentional support to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specialist DFV workforce & dedicated support to DVNSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Steering committee, provide information and advice to various departments within the NSW Government on DFV workforce and act as a conduit of information between the specialist DFV sector and government; and establish a Community of Practice amongst Aboriginal focused workers which will reduce isolation and increase job retention.
