Request for Tender in relation to low-intencity cognitive behavioral therapy services for the Comcare Scheme

In the context of the workforce, poor mental health is a contributing factor to the high rate of unscheduled absence. Comcare psychological claims cost approximately twice as much as other claim types due to longer than average time off work.

Employers have a key role to play in providing mentally healthy workplaces for all employees. Furthermore, employers have a significant opportunity to drive prevention activities and support the wellbeing, mental health, recovery and return to work of employees.

NewAccess is an innovative preventative and early intervention service utilising Low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LiCBT) for adults with mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression.

The NewAccess service, developed by Beyond Blue Limited (Beyond Blue), represents an innovative model of care that focuses on prevention and early identification of mild to moderate anxiety and depression. NewAccess is based on the United Kingdom (UK) Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) program and has proven its effectiveness and success in reducing levels of anxiety and depression, as seen through clinical recovery rates.
