Supply, Installation and Commissioning of one Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionisation Time of Flight (MALDI TOF) Unit and Associated Identification and Processing Modules, Support and Maintenance

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (the Customer) Diagnostic and Laboratory Services (DDLS) requires the provision of one Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionisation Time of Flight (MALDI-TOF) unit and associated identification and processing modules, training and support and maintenance services.

The MALDI-TOF unit allows rapid identification of organisms to the species level from pure culture and is used by the bacteriology laboratory as part of its NATA accredited pathogen identification process for livestock, aquatic and human health pathogens. The unit is to replace an existing unit which is reaching the end of its service support life and is part of the DDLS interim laboratory equipment schedule.
